The SA Chapter of the ACRS is proud to offer a free extended lunchtime seminar on Urban Planning and Road Safety. Come and hear how new approaches to planning the public realm can improve safety on our streets, and also pose challenges.
We hope you can join us at the City of Adelaide for networking over a light lunch from 12pm, followed by seminar at 12:30pm with the following program:
Natalya Boujenko (Intermethod) and Scott Elaurant (Six Cats Consulting) will present on appropriate speed environment and street design for safety, functionality and amenity. They will cover safety considerations for planning streetscapes in cities, including some of the conflicts and tensions.
Anna McDonald and Hugh Gallagher (City of Adelaide) will present on the safety implications of the North – South (Frome Street) Bikeway. They will cover the issues that the Bikeway was originally conceived to address and the impacts that the Bikeway has had on rider movement and safety.
This is an opportunity to learn and ask questions about the nuances of improving the safety of streets through approaches to urban planning.
ACRS members – free
Non-members – free
Attendees will need to arrive slightly early to the security desk for access to the venue.
